Joel Embiid played only 31 games last season but was spectacular in his brief time on the court. He averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in just 25.4 minutes per game. Him plus Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and the third overall pick should be a surprisingly deadly team. After the Sixers landed that third overall pick, he was his usual optimistic self.
According to Jessica Camerato of CSN Philadelphia, Joel Embiid still completely trusts the process and has his sights set on two top prospects.
“I’m excited,”
“We jumped up one more spot. I wish we would have gotten the No. 1 pick and the Lakers’ pick, but we’re trusting the process and it’s going to be exciting to see who we’re going to draft.”
“I think the two guards (Markelle) Fultz and Lonzo Ball are going to be one and two,”
“I like Josh Jackson a lot and Jayson Tatum. So I expect one of those guys to be at three with us.”
Josh Jackson may fit the 76ers need at guard more than Tatum but either guy would just be another talent filled player on a roster full of them. Hopefully next season Embiid is able to play more than 70 games and the 76ers will be competent for the first time in years.
