In addition, Saleh said that Zach Wilson, who is dealing with an injury in his right knee but will not go to the Injury Reserve list as the team wants him in practice while he recovers.
“We are going to make sure both mind and body are 110 percent and make sure we do right by him,” Saleh said. “We feel, talking to the doctors and everyone like it’s going to be Pittsburgh week.
Flacco, a 14-year veteran quarterback in the league, will ride the ship in the meantime. He will face his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, for whom he played as the starter for 11 years before Lamar Jackson was drafted. He played one season for the Broncos and two for the Jets since.
“I’ve been in a bunch of games where guys have played their past teams,” Flacco said. “Usually, the emotions are definitely crazy. Guys try to act like they’re so cool during the week. I’ve probably thought about it a tiny bit. It’s so far away. Who knows what’s going to happen?”
Last season, Flacco played two games and threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
