Over the holiday weekend, President-Elect Joe Biden suffered minor injuries. While playing with his dog, Major, the former U.S. Senator slipped and twisted his ankle. After visiting the doctor, detailed x-rays showed hairline fractures in his mid-foot.
“Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture, but his clinical exam warranted more detailed imaging,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor said.
“Follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot.”
Joe Biden will now take precautionary measures to ensure his safety. As a result, Biden will refrain from tenuous physical activity or travel.
“It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks,” O’Connor added.
After learning of the incident, President Donald Trump sent his good wishes to his political foe.
“Get well soon,” Trump tweeted.
The former Vice President’s staff has not outlined a timetable for the President-Elect’s recovery.
