Warner Brothers & Joaquin Phoenix have not been afraid to show off their new version of the Joker. Since the movie (which will be directed and written by Todd Philips and Scott Silver) has received the green light, the studio has not shied away from showing off Phoenix as the villainous clown of Gotham (Via TMZ):
There is an eery feeling about this videos and photos, especially when it comes to Phoenix take on the character. The reason for that is the fact that it has a striking resemblance to Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the character in the ‘Dark Knight’ movies. Regardless, it has fans of the villain excited for the movie. Unlike any other Joker movie, this will be a depiction of how the Joker came to be the villain we know him as in Gotham. In a sense, this is an origin story. One that’s supposed to be filled with drama, gangsters and of course… clowns.
With a 2019 release date slated, keep your eyes out for more and more images from this movie. They even recently released photos of Zazie Beatz and her character in the movie so we can bet there will be a lot of coverage around this production.
