J.J. Watt had offseason back surgery and it appeared the Houston Texans star wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season. Watt miraculously recovered and was on the field when week one of the 2016 NFL season rolled around. All seemed to be going well. Now, only three weeks in and Watt is back on the shelf with another back injury.
Watt was placed on the injured reserve earlier this week with a possibility of him returning. It appears that return for the two-time reigning NFL defensive player of the year will have to wait until next season.
Following from Adam Schefter of ESPN.

JJ Watt had surgery on a herniated disc in his back in late July, then another back surgery two months later. Two surgeries in three months.

Without Watt, the Texans should still be able to win the lowly AFC South. There will be some kickback from the Indianapolis Colts with a possibility of a late charge from the Jacksonville Jaguars or Tennessee Titans but it won’t be anything substantial.
Watt ends his season with eight total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one fumble recovered.
Adversity sucks.
Your attitude towards it doesn't have to.
