Sitting at a record of 9-34 and last in the Eastern conference, the Brooklyn Nets are in dire need of a healthy Jeremy Lin. In only 12 games, Lin was averaging 13.9 points, 5.8 assists a game and shooting 46.9 percent from the floor. Unfortunately, the Nets learned today that the return of Lin would have to be pushed back a few more weeks than they expected.
Following from General Manager Sean Marks of the Brooklyn Nets.
“During the course of his rehab, Jeremy re-aggravated his strained left hamstring and will be out approximately three to five weeks as he continues to work towards a full recovery. We understand and appreciate Jeremy’s competitive desire to get back on the court with his teammates, however, we are going to be cautious with his rehab in order to ensure that he is at full strength once he returns.”
In the grand scheme of things, the Nets are taking the right precautions to get a healthy Jeremy Lin back in the lineup. Although the Nets have nothing to play for, it is important that a healthy Lin returns because of the money they invested in him in the off-season. On a positive note, this will give the Nets a continued look at the young talent they have on their roster, at the guard position.
