Jeremy Lin went on an amazing run of games where he seemed unstoppable during a poor New York Knicks season in 2012. He had the team winning, and everyone was buzzing about this “Linsanity.” It was this guy from Harvard who played on a poor Knicks team. He got the knod on February 4th, and for a short time after that, he went off.
It was crazy to watch, but it was so much fun. Since then, Lin has left the Knicks, starting for the Rockets for a short time and most recently he was the 6th man of the Charlotte Hornets. Now, he is returning to the city where “Linsanity” originally started- the Brooklyn Nets.
Is Lin worried about replicating his “Linsanity” play? According to Zach Harper of CBS Sports, not at all:
“I’m so far past that,” he said of his 2012 run as a New York Knick. “From the outside, really during the season, I don’t read anything, tweets or comments or articles or what this commentator said. So expectations are going to be the same for me.and i’m going to go in and keep my mind right. play for God and I think the last couple of years, I’ve been able to live with the results.
“I played, I think, the right way and that’s the way I want to play in Brooklyn.”
“Linsanity” has come and go. Lins career is far past that. Now, the best thing Lin can do is be an efficient player for the lowly Nets as they try to turn it around. Who knows, maybe now that he is back in the city he will be able to replicate his “Linsanity” days on accident?
