The former attorney of Donald Trump, Jenna Ellis, has been released from the custody of authorities in Fulton County, Georgia after posting a $100,000 bond.
Ellis is one of 19 co-defendants accused of attempting to overturn the results of the most recent presidential election by influencing elected officials in Georgia. Trump’s former attorney is facing the following charges: violation of the Georgia RICO Act and solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer. Prior to turning herself in, she asked her friends to support her and accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of “criminalizing the practice of law.”
“The Democrats and the Fulton County DA are criminalizing the practice of law. I am resolved to trust the Lord and I will simply continue to honor, praise, and serve [h]im,” she tweeted.
“I deeply appreciate all of my friends who have reached out offering encouragement and support.”
Her co-defendant, Rudy Giuliani, also surrendered to authorities on Wednesday and posted bond shortly thereafter. Former President Donald Trump is expected to turn himself in on Thursday, August 24. Bond is reportedly set at $200,000 for the Florida resident.
