NBA players make a lot of money. They can buy houses in every state and have some leftover. But sometimes, that’s not the best option. And Jeff Teague is not one to overspend.
Now that the former Hawks’ point guard is going to play with the Pacers, Teague has some decisions to make regarding his living arrangements. Luckily for him, everything is already ready for the Indiana native as he told 97.5 FM (h/t For the Win for the transcript):
“I bought a home here some years back, and when I re-signed back with Atlanta, I just decided that I was going to live in Atlanta. And I just gave the house to my mom and dad. And now, I sold my house in Atlanta, so I’m moving back. So now I’m gonna live in my old house with my mom and dad.”
Teague specifically mentions living in the basement of the house, instantly making him every blogger’s favorite player.
Jeff Teague is a free agent next season, so this is the smart move for him. There is no guarantee that he will be staying in Indiana for more than one year. He is set to get a sizable raise next July so he can wait around and live with his parents for one more year before spending that dough.
