Jeff Teague scored 26 points and dished out eight assists to help the Hawks down the Wizards 106-101 in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals Monday night.
Atlanta held onto a ten point lead for the majority of the game, but Washington made a run late and cut the lead to four with under two minutes to play. Eventually the Wizards would have a chance to tie the game at 104 with nine seconds left, but Game Three’s hero Paul Pierce missed an open three-point attempt that would end up going out-of-bounds.
The Wizards played their second straight game without John Wall. Bradley Beal, after saying this week that he would put the team on his back, did exactly that scoring 34 points while pulling down six rebounds to go along with seven assists. The 34 points are a career high in the playoffs for Beal, breaking his previous high of 28.
Even with Beal’s performance, the Hawks were too strong in the post. Al Horford and Paul Millsap combined for 37 points and 15 rebounds.
The series, now tied at 2-2, shifts back to Atlanta for Game Five. Tipoff is scheduled for 8pm est on Wednesday, with television coverage provided by TNT.
