The Utah Jazz are reportedly involved in trade discussions regarding Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. Tony Jones of the The Athletic has also been reporting Utah’s interest in Conley, as well as Wizards forward Otto Porter Jr.

Conley and his Grizzlies teammate Marc Gasol were put on the trade block last month, with Memphis essentially waving the white flag on this season (and likely several more). Utah would include current point guard Ricky Rubio in the deal to make salaries work. Utah would be taking on a significant amount of money with Conley, who is in line to make another $66 million over the next two seasons. For Memphis, who is in full tank mode, draft compensation is the desired return.

Utah also has interest in Washington Wizards wing Otto Porter, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic. The Wizards have quietly waved the white flag too after John Wall’s season-ending surgery. Utah has been coveting another wing player in a league where manning the perimeter has become of paramount importance.

The Jazz have been searching for a third player to pair with stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Given the available options in Conley and Porter, who pair nicely given their defensive abilities, Utah may be close to finally fielding a team they feel is complete and capable of making a deep playoff run.
