JAY-Z has officially added another win to the tally that he has stacked over the course of his career. Releasing his most recent studio album, 4:44, on June 30, JAY-Z’s current body of work has been something that fans have enjoyed, dissected, critiqued, and everything in between.
Being made available exclusively on TIDAL during its first week, the second week saw physical releases and an availability on Apple Music. Carrying enough steam into the second week, Billboard has officially shared that JAY-Z has earned his 14th no. 1 album with 4:44.
JAY-Z collects his 14th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as his latest release, 4:44, debuts atop the tally. According to Nielsen Music, in the week ending July 13, the set earned 262,000 equivalent album units — a larger-than-initially-expected sum, and the fourth-largest week of 2017 for any album. Of its total, 174,000 units were in traditional album sales.
A major accomplishment that not many artists see across any genre of music, Jay’s s reign over 20+ years is amazing to witness. With the 4:44 era still being fresh and nowhere near finished, excitement is an understatement when describing how we feel regarding just what the legend may have in store for us. Having a tour in store that we go on nearing the ending days of 2017, it’s only fair to say that Jigga will not be cooling off any time soon.
