While G.O.O.D Music and Young Money are going blow for blow in one of the most talked about rap beefs of recent memory, Top Dawg Entertainment is keeping on with business as usual. After tearing down Madison Square Garden on the latest stop in their Championship Tour, Jay Rock decided to unveil the visuals for his newest single, “Win”. Much like the record’s production, the video is grand and comes complete with multiple appearances from King Kendrick Lamar. The visual for Jay Rock’s lead single features the Watts, California native rapping alongside a marching band, playing pool with beautiful women and flexing with a Stanley Cup trophy. Not to be corny, but the video clearly lets you know Jay Rock is winning in life.
The single, “Win“, comes as the first piece of Jay Rock’s newest project, Redemption. Last night, Rock held the first listening party for the album following his set at Madison Square Garden. While everyone that attended seems to be tight lipped about the listening session, anticipation for Rock’s album continues to build as we near his June 15th release date. Redemption will act as the follow-up to Rock’s 2015 90059 solo project. Since the release of 90059, Rock has been through a lot. Suffering a notable motorcycle accident back in 2016, Rock’s solo efforts have been delayed since then. However, Jay Rock is back and better than ever. He will need to be if he wants to compete in what may be the most competitive six week period of rap music in recent memory.
