
The past six months have been quite successful for Watts native, Jay Rock. In February, Jay Rock made some noise with one of the lead single’s on the Black Panther soundtrack. His song, “King’s Dead“, featuring Future and Kendrick Lamar rose as high as twenty-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In fact, it is currently Jay Rock’s most commercially successful record to date. A few months after dropping the video and single, Jay Rock returned with songs like “Win” and “The Bloodiest“. Not to long afterwards, he dropped his latest album, Redemption, which received rave reviews. On Sunday, Jay Rock even opened up the 2018 BET Awards.
Today, Jay Rock announced his next power move. Fresh off the TDE Championship Tour with Kendrick Lamar, SZA and the entire TDE family, Jay Rock has announced The Big Redemption tour. Beginning in Lawrence, Kansas on September 12th, Jay Rock will hit twenty nine cities including Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Oakland and Seattle. The tour will conclude in late October with three consecutive shows in his home state of California.
Joining Rock on The Big Redemption Tour, Reason will be performing across the country this fall. Reason made his big time debut on the Black Panther soundtrack this past winter. The rapper was featured on “Seasons” alongside Mozzy and Sjava. In an interview with Rolling Out, Reason described his music as “extremely soulful”.
