The Chicago Bears have signed former Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters to a deal to compete for the starting job at left tackle. Peters is a former Pro Bowl left tackle who in recent years has dealt with a few bad injuries. Philadelphia moved on from the long-time Eagle, but the Bears have a potential opening on their offensive line that he could potentially fill. Peters is currently 39 years old and this could very well be his last period in the NFL.
Right as the game ends, the #Bears sign 9-time Pro Bowl OT Jason Peters.
Peters may be 39, but he didn’t have any penalties in 2020 and has had a positive PFF grade even year since 2013. Nice vet signing and mentor who should compete for a starting spot.

I don’t think people understand how bad the Bears O-Line is. Jason Peters for as long as he can stay healthy is an upgrade https://t.co/OcLJI9EcHg

The general consensus around the league is that the Bears’ offensive line could use all the help that it could get heading into the season. At the very least Peters will provide a veteran presence that can help teach the current Bears’ offensive line a thing or two. It will be interesting to see how much the 39-year-old still has left in the tank.
Staying square and giving help! Love this clip by Jason Peters! #OLine pic.twitter.com/93kb6pBu9J

Peters is widely considered one of the best offensive linemen of his era and is in all likelihood a future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This journey with the Bears can help the experienced lineman end his career on his own terms.
