Back In December of 2013 there were a few reports that Jason Kidd would be let go from his duties
as Nets head coach. The Nets started 10-21, way under expectations and Kidd was going to be the odd man out.
Kidd eventually turned the team around and coached them into the playoffs last season. The Nets were a six seed going into the playoffs with a 44-38 record. You would figure a legend with the franchise would be able to coach more than one season.
Wrong.
The Milwaukee Bucks came calling and before you knew it, Jason Kidd was traded to the Bucks. It’s like he never retired from playing basketball.

Here’s what Jason Kidd told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN:
“Did I want to be traded?” said Kidd, whose Bucks play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Monday. “I think once [the Nets] OK’d the talk to Milwaukee, that just showed, whatever you want to call it, rumors or no rumors that they wanted to fire me in December had to have some legs.”
Kidd leaving the Nets and going to the Bucks is a fantastic move for both sides. Kidd is in full control of the Bucks and the Nets received 2 draft picks for Kidd. Now J-Kidd has a young roster, which he controls and no one can tell him other wise. He wanted to control the Nets and all their personnel moves but the brass for the Nets weren’t about it. Kidd kind of forced his way out of Brooklyn and now with the Bucks, he looks to make some serious noise.
