Allen left in the first quarter of the Cavs win against the Toronto Raptors with a quad contusion and wouldn’t go back to the floor for the rest of the night. He had 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 10 minutes of playing time.
The team will keep evaluating the All-Star big to have a better timeline for the injury.
Allen joins the list of injuries for the Cavs in a season where the team has surprised everyone. The team is currently sixth in the East with a 37-27 record.
Luckily, the team has the players to survive Allen’s absence with rookie Evan Mobley moving to the center spot and Lauri Markannen and Kevin Love with more playing time at the power forward.
“I’ll have to play more big and Kevin Love will play my position,” Mobley said after the game. “It will just shift down the line. We still got three bigs — me, K-Love and Lauri (Markkanen). We’re still a very big team and we can play a similar way.”
