The Crown has come to an end at Netflix and critics have no shortage of thoughts about the show’s ending. More specifically, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the film’s portrayal of Princess Diana’s untimely death. Despite the criticism, actor Jared Harris, who played Queen Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI, is confident that The Royal Family would appreciate the series.
“The Royal Family would be delighted with The Crown because it is humanizing them,” Harris told BBC’s Today.
“There’s always a question of whether you should be doing this or telling this tale or whether it is in some way disrespectful and my opinion is that I think the royal family would be delighted because it is humanizing them.”
While some may critique the show’s ending, Harris and those who have enjoyed the series may have more to look forward to. The show’s creator, Peter Morgan says he has an idea for a prequel series.
“I do have an idea. But first, I need to do some other things. Second, it would need a unique set of circumstances to come together,” Morgan explained.
“If I were to go back into The Crown, it would definitely be to go back in time.”
