Jared Anderson may be an Ohio native, but he made himself at home in the Big Apple moments after the Heisman Memorial Trophy was presented to USC Quarterback Caleb Williams.
Jared Anderson may only be 23 years old, but International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Andre Ward expected big things from the young contender in his thirteenth professional fight against Jerry Forrest.
“The more professional he becomes outside the ring, the more dangerous he’s gonna be inside the ring. He won’t have any problem with Jerry Forrest come Saturday night,” Ward said.
From the opening bell, Anderson proved Ward’s words to be true. After being hit with a tough shot, the young heavyweight went to work on the seasoned fighter, landing 39 power shots in the first round. While Forest was able to get out of the first round, Anderson was able to switch up his stance in round two and get Forrest out of the fight before the final bell.
With tonight’s performance, Anderson earned his fifth consecutive second-round knockout and the thirteenth stoppage victory of his career. Moving forward, the Ohio native is looking to earn a shot at some of the biggest names in the division, including Frank Sanchez and Dillian Whyte.
