Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard James Harden is expected to miss one month after suffering a right foot tendon strain. Testing revealed the injury on Thursday, but the injury was sustained by Harden on Wednesday night in the team’s 121-111 loss to the Washington Wizards. This next month was set to be difficult, but now it will be compounded without their star shooting guard on the court. Star center Joel Embiid has already missed time due to a non-COVID-related illness. Replacing the production of Harden will be difficult in this next month.

So far this season with the Philadelphia 76ers, James Harden is averaging 22 points, seven rebounds, ten assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He pairs those numbers with a field goal percentage of 44.1 percent and a three-point percentage of 33.3 percent. Without Harden, the team will need All-Star center Joel Embiid at his best. They will also need rising star Tyrese Maxey to handle even more of the offense than he already was. The good news is he should only miss a month and it is early in the 2022-23 NBA season. We here at Def Pen Sports wish James Harden a quick recovery and return to the basketball court.
