The disappointment that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers season continues to trend downward. Their star quarterback Jameis Winston will be “shut down” for the next couple of weeks. Adam Schefter reported the news on Twitter today.

Winston suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing arm during the Buccaneers October 15 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It is unclear when Winston will return. Some sources say at least two weeks but it could be longer.
This season has been such a disappointment for the Buccaneers. Winston was hyped to take that next step and become an elite quarterback in the NFL. So far, Winston has thrown for just under 2,000 yards with 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Winston also is completing 61% of his passes and has a quarterback rating of 87.3.
Many people had the Buccaneers in the playoffs this year, even challenging the Falcons in the NFC South. No one expected the Buccaneers to be at 2-6. An even bigger surprise is that the Saints are atop the division with a 6-2 record.
The best thing for Winston and the Buccaneers is to let Winston rest and fully recover from his injury. This season is pretty much lost and there is no reason to rush him back to action. The Buccaneers next game will be against the New York Jets this Sunday.
