The Boston Celtics and restricted free agent Jae Crowder have come to an agreement on a five-year $35 million deal.
Crowder came over from the Dallas Mavericks in the Rajon Rondo trade which paid off more for the Celtics then the Mavericks.

Crowder averaged 9 points per game last season, but helped the overachieving Boston Celtics reach the playoffs which surprised quite a few people.
The only team that had real interest in Crowder was the Dallas Mavericks, but nothing became concrete.
We’ve seen Crowder establish the ability to defend and rebound, but it would be nice to see him develop a consistent jumper which teams sagged off him on defense quite often.
If Crowder can do that it’ll help the Celtics out, and he does do a lot for the Celtics in terms of things that don’t go on the stat sheet.
Not a blockbuster move for Boston by any means, but the Celtics might be making some smaller moves as the list of top-tier free agents are starting to shrink.
From a depth stand point I like the move, and now Danny Ainge needs to bring in more talent for head coach Brad Stevens to work with because we know he will utilize it the right way just like he did with Crowder last season.
