Former North Carolina State Wolfpack senior guard Jack Clark has announced he has transferred to the Clemson Tigers. The inter-ACC transfer has become more common in the past few seasons, but can still be surprising when it happens. Clark was a key rotational player for the Wolfpack last season after playing his first three seasons with the La Salle Explorers. He may be looking for an expanded role next season with the Clemson Tigers after proving he can perform at that level in the ACC. North Carolina State also has other talented players coming in and Clark may have seen the writing on the wall for next season.

This past season as a senior with the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Jack Clark averaged 9.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 43.6 percent and a three-point percentage of 28.9 percent. Clark should be a key rotational player for Clemson during the 2023-24 college basketball season and could even fight for a starting spot on the roster. The nature of the transfer portal now is that players will leave a program likely every year. Teams that adapt and reload despite that will be the ones that do well in the modern era of college basketball.
