The projected top-five pick would finish with 17 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds in a dominating win basically start to finish. The sophomore guard joins former college players like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Andre Miller, and Dwyane Wade. The sophomore guard has been a phenom all year for Murray State.

The Murray State Racers came out of the gates firing behind the explosive play of Ja Morant and the struggling Golden Eagles had no answers for the onslaught. The guard took the game over without having to score himself often. His 17 points came off only nine shots and five free throws. Morant finished five for nine from the field, two for two from three and five for five from the charity stripe.
Ja Morant is most likely headed to the NBA after this season and wanted to leave a lasting impact on Murray State and the NCAA. The sophomore has had an amazing season averaging 24.6 points, 10 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. He also shot 50.3 percent from the field this season. Ja Morant and the Murray State Racers will continue dancing into the second round. The team will take on the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday in the Round of 32. The Racers led by Morant will look to continue their upsetting momentum.
