According to the police report, the police were called out to a dispute between a tow company and Ithiel Horton. The guard was upset about his car being towed and was told by officers his car could not be taken off the tow truck. According to the police as they walked away Horton yelled at them and included a derogatory comment toward a female officer. When the officer attempted to handcuff Horton he resisted and fled until he fell down.
This report was confirmed by an eyewitness. Officers also reported a “strong odor of alcohol on his breath”. Ithiel Horton will now have to go through the legal process and the outcome of that will likely determine his future with Pittsburgh. The team is now down two guards on the season and just before the season begins at that. Pittsburgh begins their 2021-22 season on Tuesday against The Citadel. Def Pen Sports will update the story as more is learned.
