
Actress, producer, and all-around media mogul Issa Rae will star in MRC’s Good People, Bad Things. The film will reportedly follow “an overwhelmed woman [played by Issa Rae] who gets lost in a seemingly infinite parking garage and soon discovers she is not alone.”
Good People, Bad Things will be the third project Rae has done with MRC, following American Fiction and The Lovebirds. Released in 2020, The Lovebirds received generally favorable reviews while American Fiction, released in 2023, won Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2024 Academy Awards. American Fiction also represents the last major picture Rae has starred in. Moving forward, she’s set to reprise her role as Jess Drew in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
Behind the camera, Rae will be directed by directed by Scottish filmmaker Ninian Doff. Montrel McKay, Laura Tunstall and Stephanie Wilcox will join Rae as producers representing Present Company Inc. and Hoorae. Hoorae’s Sara Rastogi will also executive produce alongside Michelle Craig and Piero Frescobaldi.
