The NBA Draft Lottery is the very interesting event where if the no.1 pick doesn’t go to the worst team in the NBA everybody throw their hands up shouting “FIX! THE FIX IS IN!”. Actually even if that does happen you will still say ‘fix’ for some reason.
The NBA Draft Lottery is also interesting because of the people that represent the teams. Some we recognise immediately for example Julius Erving but some we don’t. Remember when Mallory Edens took over social media for an hour? And then you all followed her for some reason? It’s random and that’s fun. This one however is pretty simple. Isaiah Thomas will rep the Celtics on Lottery night.
“I’m going to do it,” Thomas said Friday afternoon, after completing his team exit interview. “[Grousbeck] asked me up there upstairs, so I’m going to definitely be that guy. Hopefully I can bring some luck.”
“Coming from where I’m from, and the story I have, you’d never think I’d be asked to go represent an NBA franchise at the lottery,” Thomas said. “So it’s a blessing for [Grousbeck] to even ask me that. I’m excited to do it and hopefully I can bring some luck.”
“I’m going to do my little research,” he said. “Hopefully I can find something that’s good-luck worthy.”
I don’t see why not. Isn’t it just sitting there and then posing for pictures if you get a top 3 pick? Sounds like a decent job for Isaiah Thomas and he’ll get a photo op as well. I wouldn’t mind doing that.
