Head Coach Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have landed the commitment of 2024 top 20 recruit and top ten small forward Isaiah Evans. The prospect from Huntersville, North Carolina held offers from the Florida State Seminoles, Alabama Crimson Tide, Kansas Jayhawks, and many others. Ultimately he decided to commit to the in-state Blue Blood program over those other programs. Evans could be a “one and done” prospect, but his fate for the 2025 NFL Draft is not yet set in stone. He may decide to play at least two seasons of college basketball.

The Duke 2024 recruiting class is not as filled out as they usually are at this point with Isaiah Evans being just the second commitment. He joins four-star small forward and top 55 recruit Darren Harris as the only two players currently committed to the Duke Blue Devils in the 2024 class. More names will almost certainly be added before the 2024 recruiting cycle ends. Evans is a key player and could be the highlight of the class, but considering this is Duke, it is not likely.
Head Coach Jon Scheyer had a solid first season leading the program and is looking to build on that momentum. Continuing to add five-star talent like Isaiah Evans is vital for the long-term success of the Duke Bleu Devils. For now they will focus on next season and their loaded 2023 recruiting class.
