Irv Gotti and Ja Rule guest starred on radio show ‘Breakfast Club’ discussing joint and individual endeavors.
The pair joined Charlamagne The God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee for an insightful conversation on past work, upcoming projects and more. Ja Rule of course discussed the infamous Fyre Festival and Irv Gotti shared details on his show Tales including an upcoming Kanye West collaboration.
Ja Rule remains adamant that Fyre Festival was poorly executed however a great idea and shared he would possibly attempt another festival event.
The Fyre Festival was an amazing idea. Let’s not act like every fucking body wasn’t coming to the Fyre Festival. It was fucking done wrong. It was organized bad. The idea of it was dope, the marketing was dope, everything was done very right on that end. The execution was extremely bad, man” says Ja Rule.
Irv Gotti discusses how Jay Z and TIDAL gave him the support he needed with Tales, crediting Jay Z with playing a major part in getting the show on YouTube. Irv Gotti also hints to season premier featuring new music from Kanye West. Not naming Kanye West explicitly, Irv Gotti says July 2nd Tales debuts on BET and despite possibly angering his Viacom partners shares the premier steps outside of the Tales formula.
“The normal thing how we do with Tales, if you’re a fan of Tales is I take existing songs and turn them into movies. So, the season premier July 2nd will be a 2-hour season premier of a brand new record, produced by me and my production partner 7, from a huge huge huge artist. I won’t name the artist, you’ll find out in a week or two.”
Being pressured for hints by DJ Envy, Irv Gotti exclaims the artist is “controversial” with Ja Rule sliding in a “Midwest” confirmation. When DJ Envy announces “Kanye West will be on the season premier of tales” Irv Gotti responds “I didn’t say it” following up that the rapper is not acting in the show but maybe a song.
