Throughout his long career, Idris Elba has accomplished a lot. He’s starred in Takers, The Wire, Luther, Mandela, This Christmas and a number of other movies and television series. In addition, he’s been featured on a Macklemore album, hosted the FIFA Football Awards and been named to the TIME 100 Most Influential People list. Simply put, he’s done a lot in his life, but there’s one more thing he can add to his long list of accomplishments.

Announced earlier this week, Idris Elba will make his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in New York City on March 9th. The legendary act will take center stage and Khalid will also make his debut as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest. As big as this is for Elba, it’s simply the beginning of what will be a great year for him. Later this year, Elba will perform at Coachella, star in Hobbs & Shaw and return to Luther. At the end of this year, we will definitely be saying this was a year to remember for the English actor, director, kick boxer and DJ.
