Within the last 18 months, Ice Spice has taken her talents from Fordham Road to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Earlier this year, the Bronx native crossed over in a manner that many did not expect to happen so soon in her career. First, she landed a remix with Taylor Swift and then, she joined her on stage as she performed at MetLife Stadium. During a recent interview, the chart-topping freshman opened up about her friendly relationship with the global pop star.
“I was like, ‘You f*ck with my project? Like, what?’” she said, according to Billboard.
“She’s so sweet – I was so obsessed with how humble she was and willing to work. She gives me so much advice – we talk all the time and she’s so funny. But I can’t say what she be telling me.”
Taylor Swift is not the only music industry veteran to reach out to Ice Spice in recent months. Most notably, Nicki Minaj connected with her fellow New York native to work on the “Princess Diana” remix. More recently, the two delivered the latest single from the Barbie soundtrack. Next up, the Bronx native will continue her rise to the top with a performance at Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C. on July 15, 2023.
