After a beyond successful debut for their Straight Outta Compton, Ice Cube and his son O’Shea Jackson Jr., are reportedly eyeing their next big role.
The father/son duo are reportedly going to re-team for an action thriller set against the LA Riots.
According to THR, the film titled April 29, 1992, will be directed by Donovan Marsh and will star Ice Cube as a former criminal who, during the LA Riots, has to protect his son and job from a violent group trying to steal from him.
Jackson Jr., made his big screen debut in Compton playing a younger version of his father, in the film about the founding and rising of rap group NWA. The film has already earned over $80 million in its first week.
Cube on the other hand, has two big screen sequels on the way.
He’ll be reprising his role as Detective James Payton opposite Kevin Hart in Ride Along 2, and will also return as Calvin Palmer in Barbershop 3.
Barbershop 3 will also star Cedric the Entertainer, Queen Latifai, Nicki Minaj, Eve, Anthony Anderson and Regina Hall.
