Head Coach Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have landed the commitment of 2024 top-three recruit and shooting guard Ian Jackson. He is considered a top “one and done” talent and will most likely declare for the 2025 NBA Draft after a year at North Carolina. Jackson held several offers but committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels over the Arkansas Razorbacks and Kentucky Wildcats. For now, the Tar Heels have the number one recruiting class in 2024 with Jackson as the headliner. The class has a mix of “one and done” and multiple-year talent.
Ian Jackson, No. 2-ranked player in the 2024 class, just committed to North Carolina over Kentucky. Arkansas, others also involved. Incredible win for Hubert Davis, who now has two top-11 (and four top-41) pledges in the junior class. Highest-ranked UNC commit since Cole Anthony.

Hubert Davis has added top-level talent in his two-year tenure as the Head Coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Ian Jackson joins top ten recruit and point guard Elliot Cadeau along with two four-star recruits James Brown and Drake Powell. Davis and the Tar Heels still have offers out to a few top recruits in the class and could add to the already-loaded recruiting class.
Ian Jackson, the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2024 class, has announced his commitment to North Carolina.

For a Blue Blood program, North Carolina doesn’t have “one and done” prospects as often as the others, but that may begin to change under Hubert Davis. Ian Jackson and Elliot Cadeau are top prospects for the 2025 NBA Draft and will make an impact at the next levels of basketball. With five-star talent like that headed into the program, more wins will likely be on the way.
