Gonzaga Bulldogs sophomore guard Hunter Sallis has announced that he has entered the transfer portal this offseason. Once a highly sought-after recruit coming out of high school, Sallis’ career has not exactly gone how he expected. The expectation was that he could have perhaps been heading to the league in the 2023 NBA Draft. That hasn’t exactly worked out, but with his skillset and former top recruit ranking there will be several teams interested in his talents for next season. There is still time for him to get his NBA career back on track starting next season.

This past season as a sophomore with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Hunter Sallis averaged 4.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 46.6 percent and a three-point percentage of 25.6 percent. While his offense needs to improve next season, his defense is arguably already ready for the NBA. His next program will need to be a team that can mold him into a better offensive player. He has already been linked to two programs in his home state, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Creighton Bluejays. Plenty of other programs will still reach out to him heading into this college basketball offseason.
