Parenting

How should parents relate with teachers in the presence of their children-pupils?
Any parent has to communicate with teachers. It’s a relationship that cannot be avoided if your child studies at school, a step towards trust, exchange of spiritual and emotional values, experience, information that the pedagogue and parents transmit to each other.

Knowledge about the environment that surrounds the child helps to develop a unified line of influence, to compare the points of view on education, to resolve contradictions which happen quite often. After all, teachers and parents raise a child in specific conditions: the former – in school, systematically and deliberately, the latter – at home, where education is more “mysterious” and free.

Achieving mutual understanding between school and home educators is a complex and multifaceted process. Communication is beneficial to both parties. Teachers acquire the kind and reliable assistants in the person of parents. Fathers and mothers enrich their horizons with pedagogical ideas, methods, and approaches to upbringing. However, a mutual desire for the establishment of truth is necessary to understand each other.

Try to get in touch

This skill is not simple but absolutely necessary. The main means of communication is the word – the most important source of information, which either facilitates entering into contact or puts a barrier in your way. The word is the thinnest touch to the heart. It can become a tender, fragrant flower which returns faith in the good or a sharp knife, a hot iron, the clouds of dirt. A wise word brings joy, while stupid and evil, ill-considered and tactless only trouble. Both parents and teachers should remember about it.

Sometimes, it also happens that a person did not say a single harsh word, but the tone of his speech predetermines the further behavior of the interlocutor. The intonation sensitivity is very important in getting in touch: look, gesture, smile – rich means of expression that help to set a contact.

Respect the interlocutor

Understanding must precede advice. When the father and mother are aggressive, want to prove something or justify themselves for the teacher, they are not able to listen to him, perceive critics and recommendations. And if the teacher also answers with rudeness, then the conflict cannot be avoided. Who needs it? Father or mother? In any case, not a child. The pedagogue is not interested in quarrel too. Just like parents, he strives for the positive outcome of communication.

Communication should end with a “developing” advice and the readiness of the parents to act independently

In order to provide constructive help to the mother or father, it is important to reveal the possibilities of their child, to convince them of the need to rely on his talents. Educators should avoid excessive control. Every caring parent wants to try his pedagogical powers independently. Maybe, not everything will pass successfully on the first attempt, but after some time, the positive results will start to appear. “Developing” advice leaves a place for creative activity of the parents.

Stick to open communication

Both sides should tell each other about everything that helps to understand the child and the problems associated with his upbringing. Each person, including kids, has a unique character. Who knows more about its specific features? Probably, parents. Do school educators need to know about them in order to facilitate the child’s development? Certainly!

Learn to talk and listen to a partner

This rule is the cornerstone of the art of communication. It’s bad when one of the partners does not want to hear anything, does not see the prospects of the meeting, does not expect anything good from it. In such a case, it is necessary to change the situation.

Try to “reflect” the thoughts and feelings of the interlocutor

Partners in communication can be compared with a mirror that reflects the feelings and emotions expressed in words. If the teacher (parent) meets the interlocutor with a smile, he responds in kind. If the teacher’s voice is “sharp”, parents immediately adjust to a similar tone.

Do not forget that the main purpose of communication is a child
If there is a dislike to each other between the teacher and the parents, it must be eliminated for the sake of the child. It must be remembered that conflicts between the adults have a heavy impact on the student’s psyche.
Research shows that, for many teachers, beloved work becomes a lifestyle. An inner need for communication with parents appears. But, unfortunately, it happens not with everyone.

Moms and dads also may not accept the teacher. Most often, this happens when parents believe that he is unfair, unnecessarily strict to their child. There are persons with a consumer attitude to the school who are not inclined to cooperate with the teacher, people who, having once experienced shame for their child, helplessly hate school and pedagogues. It is not easy to break down the wall of alienation and mistrust in such cases. But what to do? Let it be as it is?

Of course, no. It is necessary to adjust the attitude of parents to the school and teachers. Not understanding the reasons, not understanding the essence of rejection, the pedagogue cannot achieve the benevolence of fathers and mothers, a sense of responsibility for the student. In communication with such people, it is worth relying on the mind, feelings and, most importantly, on the interest in the fate of the child.
There are no parents indifferent to the successes and failures of their kids. Every sign of care must be noticed by the teacher and put into action to convince the home educators with word and deed: “I want to protect your child.” Support, willingness to help, kind words – it’s a rain in a desert.

It was far not a complete set of rules of communication that will help parents and teachers better understand each other. They partially cover the very serious issue of modern pedagogy being considered by experienced scientists and young specialists. If you also want to prepare an article on this topic, take the assignment seriously. The most reliable option is to turn to a good essay writer service.
