For the second consecutive year, H&M has partnered with Buy From A Black Woman to support Black-owned businesses from coast to coast. This year, the campaign will kick off in Times Square on November 25, 2022. In the Big Apple, H&M will work with Buy From A Black Woman to host a holiday market that features vendors and products designed and developed by Black women. Shortly after supporting Black entrepreneurs in the tri-state area, H&M and Buy From A Black Woman will open up markets in Glendale and Century City, California. From there, the two organizations will set up shop in Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida. Across all locations, 5 Black Women-owned businesses will be featured, with new businesses rotating each day.
“The Buy From A Black Woman Holiday Market allows us to put Black women business owners in front of shoppers. When we did this last year, the community really showed out to support us and they loved it, which more than validates the need for these initiatives,” Buy From A Black Woman’s Nikki Porcher said.
“Creating experiences like this for Black women business owners is so important because it empowers us to keep reaching for more despite the obstacles Black women face. We are proud to continue this partnership with H&M and show the world what it really means when we say, ‘when you support a Black woman business owner, you support a whole community.'”
The two organizations first began working together in 2021. Since then, they have hosted 32 events across 12 cities. Through their efforts, they have uplifted more than 80 Black women looking to advance their businesses.
“It’s so rewarding to see the continued success of our relationship with Buy From a Black Woman and founder Nikki Porcher in year two,” Donna Dozier Gordon of H&M said.
“We’re looking forward to this year’s market and to continuing to build our partnership with Buy From A Black Woman in support of its mission of elevating Black women entrepreneurs.”
