HBO Max has acquired the rights to the Meek Mill led feature film, Charm City Kings. The film was originally under the direction of Sony Pictures and set to be released this spring. Then, the film was moved to an August 14th release. Now, the film will be released through HBO Max at a date later this year.
Led by Meek Mill and Queen & Slim’s Jahi Di’Allo Winston, the film follows the story of a teenage boy nicknamed Mouse who is balancing his dreams of joining a Baltimore dirt biking group while staying out of the street. Alongside Meek Mill and Winston, Teyonah Parris and William Catlett will also appear in the film. Behind the scenes, Will and Jada Pinkett Smitth produced the film. Meanwhile, Kirk Sullivan, Chris Boyd and Barry Jenkins contributed to the film’s story.
HBO Max is set to debut on May 27, 2020, but the film does not have a specific release date yet.
