
Atlanta Hawks continue their winning ways early on this young season. They are on an 8 game winning streak, their longest in 17 years after they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in blowout fashion 95-79.
Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap each scored 17 points with Millsap grabbing 8 rebounds. DeMarre Carroll had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Atlanta. Al Horford scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Mike Muscala, the second year former Bucknell star, came off the bench to score 12 points and grab 7 rebounds. Jeff Teague only had 4 points with 6 assists.
Alexey Shved had 13 points to lead the 76ers coming of the bench. The veteran Luc Mbah a Moute had 12 points with 5 steals, and K.J. McDaniels and Jerami Grant each had 10 coming off the bench. Three Sixers starters scored 8 points including Nerlens Noel, Hollis Thompson and Michael Carter-Williams who also had 10 rebounds and 9 assists on the night. Carter-Williams has been on a slight tear as of late, averaging almost triple-double numbers through out the last 6 games for the 76ers.
Korver sank five 3-pointers to help the Hawks’ achieve their longest winning streak since an 11-0 start to the 1997-98 season.
Atlanta Hawks are 15-6. Philadelphia 76ers are 2-19.
