Paul Thomas Anderson is set to direct an untitled Warner Bros. picture starring Regina Hall, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. Production will reportedly begin in California later this month, but the studio has not shared any details regarding the title or plot of the film.
Hall’s relationship with Warner Bros. goes back 25 years. The star actress played the role of Lena Wright in Love & Basketball from New Line Cinema, a production studio owned by Warner Bros. More recently, she has appeared in Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema productions such as Shaft and Barbershop: The Next Cut.
Like Hall, Penn and Cruise also have relationships with Warner Bros. Pictures that have lasted more than two decades. Throughout his career, Penn has appeared in several Warner Bros. films, including Mystic River and I Am Sam. Meanwhile, Cruise has starred in the studio’s standout films like Risky Business and The Last Samurai. More recently, he formed a partnership with Warner Bros. to produce and develop original and franchise feature films.
“I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience,” Cruise said.
“I look forward to making great movies together!”
