It’s a new year and it’s time for a new season of the Black-ish spin-off, Grown-ish. The Freefrom series kicked off on January 2nd with the premiere of its second season. With a strong season opener that picked up on the cliffhanger of last season, the Yara Shahidi led series is looking good as season two gets going. Off screen, the series is also off to a strong start. Ahead of the second series premiere, Grown-ish partnered with the app, Scholly, to help viewers alleviate their student loan debt. The two parties have come together to create a fund that will help alleviate up to $125,000 of student debt.
Following the announcement of the newly former partnership, representatives of Freeform issued a statement. The network stated, “Acknowledging that student loans have crippled a generation of young Americans and are keeping them from achieving their dreams, the program aims to help student loan borrowers pay off debts that may be holding them back from living their best lives.” The network added, “Thus far, Scholly has helped students win over $100 million dollars in scholarships and aided many in reducing their debt.”
Current college students and recent grads can apply to the fund between now and January 31st for a chance to have their student loans paid off. The recipients will be announced at the 2019 Freeform Summit.
