Chandler Parsons signed a deal that was slated to be huge when it came to a salary cap increase, 2 years ago with the Mavericks. Now he’s estimated to have an even bigger jump in salary, as most expect he is trying to get a max contract. Parsons found his footing with the Mavericks later on in their time together, averaging 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists throughout this last season. Now, with Parsons an unrestricted free agent, he has the ability to go anywhere he pleases, and he will be one of the most coveted free agents this summer.
With multiple teams already trying to find deals for Parsons, including the Orlando Magic, the Memphis Grizzlies have come out as the real suitors for the stretch wing player. The Grizzlies, who have their own free agency problem; trying to re-sign Mike Conley, are looking to add another player to help convince Conley to stay. Could Chandler Parsons help Mike Conley make his decision? According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Grizzlies are looking like the top suitors for Parsons:

You can scratch “might.” Sources say Memphis is a confirmed suitor for Chandler Parsons in addition to its top priority: Keeping Mike Conley

The initial idea was that Parsons would re-sign with the Mavericks, pushing Conley to lean towards Dallas, but now it seems as though the script has flipped. With Parsons leaning towards signing with the Grizzlies, Conley’s mind could very well change about his interest in the Mavericks. Parsons isn’t the only player factoring into Conley’s decision. The Mavericks have also been looking to find a Center that can fill the void felt by DeAndre Jordan’s absence last year, and they’re hoping to lure Dwight Howard or Hassan Whiteside into the Mavericks organization. Both teams have hopes of bringing back their stars and adding talent to bolster their squads, which is what teams are always hopeful to do, but which team will land Chandler Parsons? With free agency set to begin in 24 hours, the race is on lure players like Parsons onto your team.
UPDATE:
The Grizzlies won’t be the only team gunning for Parsons. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers are suitors for the forward as well:
