San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich reportedly wants to sit down with LeBron James to pitch the idea of playing for the Spurs next season, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Stein writes that he has been advised Popovich will try to force his way into the conversation to sell James on the idea of playing for the Spurs. The teams that were most heavily discussed this season for James were the Cavaliers, Sixers, Lakers, and Rockets. While it may seem a little out of left field to see the Spurs involved, it should not be. LeBron James has a mutual respect for Popovich, on many occasions calling him the greatest coach of all time.
If Popovich needs another Spurs player to help him, look no further than Dejounte Murray. The young point guard appears all in on trying to get King James to South Texas.
