TMZ recently caught up with Kevin Connolly, the director of the upcoming film ‘Gotti’ and received some clarification as to what exactly was going on with the film. ‘Gotti’ was abruptly pulled from Lionsgate’s slate roughly two weeks before it’s scheduled release date. This was apparently due to the limited release that Lionsgate was going to give to the film, though naturally, rumors have been swirling ever since the announcement.
TMZ asked Connolly directly about some of the conspiracy theories swirling around the film and he gave some surprisingly revealing answers. He swiftly shut down some of the more ridiculous rumors that have been thrown around, such as a conspiracy by the mob to shut down the release of the film. Which ironically would be totally anti-Gotti in every way shape and form. Amidst the rumor squashing, Connolly found a second to drop a hint about the new potential release date for the film, by stating that he believes the film will be in theatres by April of 2018.
We’ve attached the interview with Kevin Connolly below, as well as the official synopsis for ‘Gotti’.
