As it pertains to music, much of the attention at the Super Bowl is directed toward the halftime show. With Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi performing at the Super Bowl, this year will likely be no different. Not to mention, there will likely be many iconic Atlanta acts in the audience that may make a special appearance during the halftime show.

With all of that being said, the national anthem holds its own as one of the most memorable moments at each Super Bowl. Most notably, the Super Bowl national anthem etched its place out in pop culture history when Whitney Houston delivered her rendition at Super Bowl XXV. This year, Gladys Knight took her shot at national anthem fame.

Despite criticism from those boycotting the NFL, Gladys Knight appeared to be quite set on delivering this performance. Prior to performing, Gladys Knight stated that she hopes her performance will bring everyone together. She also said that “once we get into that love thing, it all comes together and goes wherever and we end up clapping and having a good time.” Check out Gladys Knight’s performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl LIII and let us know what you think.
