George Karl Expresses Interest In Coaching Magic
The Orlando Magic head coaching spot is vacant as of this week, and you better believe George Karl is interested.
Jacque Vaughn was relieved of his duties as the Magic head coach this week, making Karl one of a few candidates likely to be considered. Karl has served as an NBA analyst for ESPN since last coaching on the NBA sideline.
Karl released this statement on the possibility of returning to the sideline:
I wanted to address everyone’s questions & comments in regards to my coaching career. Here is my official statement. pic.twitter.com/i4rN5wjoRh

The last time George Karl was a head coach he won 57 games with the Denver Nuggets and was awarded Coach of the Year. His team lost in the first round in the playoffs and he was booted. Known for coaching an uptempo style, it’s no wonder he’s intrigued by the young budding talent of Orlando.
Karl, a respected veteran who has seen it all, wants to coach in the NBA again. The Sacramento Kings considered reaching out to Karl among plenty of others after firing head coach Mike Malone, but have since signed Ty Corbin on for the remainder of the season. There could still be a plan to bring in someone new for next season.
Another chance for Karl only seems right, and with the current head coaching vacancies plus some that will undoubtedly open up through the end of the season, he should be able to get that chance.
