It’s been an extremely interesting month for Gayle King of CBS This Morning. At the beginning of the month, the longtime media professional interviewed R. Kelly in what has become one of the most popular moments on social media this year. Shortly after the interview, Page Six reported that King was looking for a raise to remain with the network. To be specific, King was allegedly looking for “George Stephanopoulos money“. To put the salaries of the two anchors in comparison, King reportedly makes $6 million per year while George Stephanopoulos makes approximately $15 million per year. However, this pay gap could soon disappear.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Gayle King is nearing a contract extension with CBS. CBS would not divulge any information about the deal, but the report states, “She is surely getting a hefty raise to stay.” Furthermore, the report adds, “Whatever raise King secures, if a deal is reached, will surely make her the highest paid anchor at the news division.”
King has yet comment on the report or provide any information regarding her current contract with CBS. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
