ESPN has announced that they will air Game 6: The Movie on May 20, 2020 at 9 p.m. The documentary will chronicle game six of the 1998 NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz. It will feature game footage from the NBA and high definition footage from the night.
The announcement comes just hours after ESPN aired the final two episodes of the ten-part documentary series, The Last Dance. Using exclusive interviews, never before seen footage and much more, the series tells the story of Michael Jordan’s career with the Chicago Bulls. While it was originally set to premiere in June, ESPN moved up the documentary’s release date to counteract the NBA’s abrupt stoppage in play.
Game 6 of the '98 finals is the most watched NBA game ever.

“If you would have told me six months ago if we could have done this, I would have said it was impossible,” Executive Producer Gregg Winik said.
“It features a lot of dramatic imagery and the pictures jump off the screen,” he added.
“To top off this project with this never-seen-before version of Game 6 is an incredible ending,” ESPN Executive Vice President For Content Connor Schell added.
The Last Dance has emerged as a major draw for the network. Averaging more than 12 million viewers per episode, the documentary series stands out as one ESPN’s best.
