In 2022, few artists had a run quite like Future. Two years removed from the release of High Off Life, the Atlanta native bounced back in a major way. Not only did he manage to top the Billboard 200 chart with his latest LP, but the project’s lead single, “Wait For U” featuring Drake and Tems, topped the Billboard Hot 100. By November, the project was certified platinum by the RIAA. Most recently, the track won a Grammy Award at the 65th annual award show. Instead of taking some time off to enjoy the fruits of his labor, the Grammy Award winner appears to be working on his next project.
“I’m in album mode,” he tweeted this week.
“[I’m] moving [differently] all 2023,” he added.
It is not out of the ordinary for Future to return with an album one year after dropping his previous LP. In fact, he dropped five albums from 2014 through 2017. Not to mention, he also toured with Drake and dropped four additional mixtapes during that time period. “March Madness,” F*ck Up Some Commas,” and several other legendary tracks emerged during his three-year run.
Beyond his own music, also appeared on DJ Khaled’s God Did, Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains and OTF’s Loyal Bros II. Moving forward, it would come as no surprise if Future appeared on Travis Scott’s Utopia in 2023.
