Fun Activities to Do With the Family Next Christmas!

  • December 31, 2019

Christmas is one of the most anticipated times of the year. There are so many activities that make it such a delight, and you are, with no doubt, going to have to make a list if you want to do them all. But then, sometimes, all your Christmas activities seem a little dated, and you need something new and fun to do. In this post, we’ll be sharing nine Christmas activities you can do with the family to pass the time.

Make crafts with the kids

You’re probably already having trouble containing the excitement of your kids when it comes to Christmas. One of the ways to keep yourself sane is by helping them channel their energy to something useful and productive. Making arts and crafts is a fantastic example. You can create new Christmas decorations, and you keep them engaged. Whatever your kids make can go on the Christmas tree, or you can place them on the dining table as a centerpiece.
Play Secret Santa with your family members.

This activity works better with a large family. The idea of Secret Santa only works when you don’t know who the person is, and in a small family, you’re bound to get it in one or two guesses. You could also play the game with a group of friends. The idea is to pick a pair of people at random and have them exchange gifts. The thrill of giving someone a gift is already exciting. It gets even more exciting when they don’t know who the gift came from.

Go to see a Christmas show

There are tons of movies that show around Christmas, and most of them center around the theme of Christmas. One of the best ways to spend the holidays is to go and see a movie with your entire family. You need to check ahead of time to ensure that the movie is safe for children to watch. Not only is it an excellent activity to pass the time, but it can also give you all something to talk about later on. You can even make a family tradition out of it and see a movie every year around the same time. If you really enjoy the movie, you can even decide to see the same movie every year.

Play Christmas Tree, I Spy

This game is perfect for car rides. You may be on your way to shop for a Christmas tree, or
on your way back from the movies. Whatever the case, it’s a great game to play with the
kids. Christmas Tree, I Spy is all about trying to see who can spot the most Christmas trees.
You don’t really need anything extra to play the game, and you certainly don’t need your car
to be in perfect shape. But then, if you have some mechanical faults, you should probably
have it checked before it breaks down. Cars have a way of doing that in the most inconvenient situations. If your problems are AC-related, you can get AC compressor gaskets at this link: https://aclube.com/collections/ac-low-pressure-port-cap

Decorate the kitchen

Kitchen decorations for Christmas are much more than hanging stockings over the fireplace.
What if you don’t have a fireplace? You can find more creative ways to decorate your kitchen during the festive periods. It doesn’t even have to be elegant or extensive. Simple Christmas lights and touches of red and green decorations can transform your kitchen into a magical place. It’s even better if you let your kids help out in the decorations. However, be prepared because they might suggest wacky and out of place things like a cut-out of Rudolf beside the dining table!

Go ice skating

You may already be thinking that you don’t know how to ice skate, but that in itself is a great reason to go ice skating. You can make a Christmas tradition out of it. Going ice skating is a
great way to get the whole family involved, as well as a great way to have good family fun. If no one in the family can skate, you may want to get some lessons or have someone watching over your family. This is a good idea if you have a lot of kids with you. Ice skating is a relatively safe sport, and you’re probably going to spend more time having fun than you’ll be worried about anyone getting hurt.

Create your own Christmas cards

You don’t need a background in graphics design or fine arts to create your own Christmas cards. All you actually need are some arts and crafts supplies and a few willing hands. If you have kids at home, you can bet that you have more than enough willing hands. Your cards can be as simple as crayon drawings and fingerprints, or they can be as elaborate as glue, glitter, and lots of colors. It’s all up to you and your team of producers!

Make eggnog

Even though Christmas is more than gifts and traditions, no celebration is complete without eggnog. You need to make eggnog if you want the celebration to be complete through and through. While making your eggnog, you can stick to the normal recipe, or you can create something entirely new. You have the freedom to choose the ingredients that end up in your eggnog. Just make sure it’s drinkable afterward.

Make homemade treats and deliver them to someone unexpected

Christmas is a season to be merry and share good tidings with loved ones around you. What better way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas than to deliver treats to someone when they least expect it? It could even be your way of reaching out to someone you haven’t seen or spoken to in a long time. You can go online and find amazing recipes. Just make sure you try the treats before presenting them. You certainly don’t want to say, “Nice to see you after such a long time” with a basket of poorly baked goods.
