Epic Records are looking to live up their name. Over the course of the last 8 months, Epic has been signing major artist. From Puffy to Ross to Khaled and now French has joined the family.
“Love the respect and appreciation that L.A. Reid and his team have for music. I think it’s rare to find that in the industry today,” Montana said. “Being able to start this chapter at Epic with my Bad Boy family is a blessing. Puff and [Bad Boy President] Harve [Pierre] have been like big brothers to me and there’s nothing better than making music with the people you love.”
With this announcement, French shared a few words with Billboard about the partnership and a little update on the long-awaited, Mac & Cheese: The Album.
Montana says the album will have the same feel as his ‘tapes, but the sound will be more soulful and “a mixture of all different drums and 808s.” He’s confirmed features from Max B, the late Chinx, Miguel and Kanye West. One record in particular “Mercy” features Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss and Styles P. “Those are three of the hardest that ever come out of the East Coast,” he says. “I wanted to do something crazy.”
In addition to the Epic announcement, French decided to release the visual to, “Figure It Out”. Back in March, French teamed up with Eif Rivera, heading out to Mojave Air & Space Port in California to brings us another exceptional visual off of his latest offering, Wave Gods, hosted by Max B, the Silver Surfer himself.
